The Spartacus PIP Survey will close on Monday morning, so please complete it soon! You can find it at:
http://survey.spartacusforum.org.uk/index.php?sid=13281&lang=en
The survey should take no more than 10 minutes
Remember: You can do as little or as much of the survey as you feel able; there is an assumption you have read some of the documents, which you can find at http://wearespartacus.org.uk/spartacus-publications/pip-consultation-downloads/ (the unofficial guide to the PIP consultation is the best document to look at). If you’ve looked at the documents but still don’t understand it we do want to know – there is a question in the survey about how easy or difficult you have found it.
Note: Doing the survey to contribute to the group response does not replace taking part and giving your views as an individual; we need both.
I’m terrified of the whole thing. I find benefits hugely stressful to apply for. It took me years to achieve the DLA I have….and I’m pretty sure it will be taken away again.
It pays for treatment that isn’t offered on the NHS. I’m unable to work because I can’t maintain good health enough to be employable.
Without my DLA I don’t know how I’m going to afford to keep my treatment going
Isn’t the consultation deadline for PIP the 30th June 2012? This is what it says on DWP website. I want to respond but can’t manage it by 27th April. Please let me know if you’ll be accepting responses after that, Thanks
Hi Catherine, the consultation deadline for the consultation on the activities, descriptors, scoring and thresholds is in fact 30 April. The consultation deadline for the detailed design of PIP is 30 June. I hope that clarifies for you. Sorry for being misleading
Sorry that I missed the 30 April 2012 deadline. I am a diabled person who is also worried about the proposed reforms of disability and link benefits. Let me know if there is still anything that I can do.
I am disabled, having severe mobility problems; I also have sarcoidosis (auto-immune disorder)and I work for a charity which offers advice and help to people with disabilities.
If there is any way in which I can be of help, please let me know.
Hi Shelagh, thanks very much for getting in touch. The Spartacus movement is currently ‘recovering’ from the huge effort of responding to the PIP assessment consultation and several of the co-ordinators are sick. However, over the next week or so we will be ‘rallying the troops’ once again! We have to start building for the future, looking at how we can be most effective, so quite a lot of thinking is going on behind the scenes…
There are two – or three, depending on whether you use social networking – things you can do to stay in touch and pick up ideas on what you can do. You can sign up to this website, so you get an email when we upload a new post, and sign up to our forum, which is at http://www.spartacusforum.org.uk. If you’re into social networking, you can join our Facebook group, Spartacus Report (named after the original report on how the Government misled everyone on the response to the original consultation on DLA reform).
I hope this helps; I will be uploading a new post, very soon, now that the most complex PIP consultation is out of the way. Stay tuned!!

I am terrified the worry is adding to my health issues,i will not be able to have quality of life when they take the dLA away, its cruel and inhumane. We need extra money for heating and getting around how cruel this government are.
Incredible! This blog looks just like my old one!
It’s on a completely different subject but it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!
I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great.
Cheers!
I don’t know who you are but certainly you’re going to
a famous blogger if you aren’t already
